ACTING & MUSICAL THEATRE - LAMDA CCA | SENIOR SCHOOL

Join Spotlight’s Acting & Musical Theatre CCA to explore the 3 core performing arts disciplines: acting, singing and dance in a fun, creative environment taught by industry professionals. This CCA will cover improvisation to build confidence and creativity in ideas, movement to explore storytelling through physicality, spoken voice work: focusing on breath control, accents, tone and modulation to create engaging characters.

Using the LAMDA Examination syllabus, students will delve into a range of contemporary and classical play texts, musical theatre repertoire from hit West End and Broadway shows and learn new performance skills and techniques to produce imaginative, original performances, as well as touching upon directorial projects.

Students will have the opportunity to enter for their LAMDA Acting/and or Musical Theatre Examinations in Spring/Summer 2022. 

PUBLIC SPEAKING - LAMDA CCA | SENIOR SCHOOL

The Spotlight Public Speaking CCA programme provides a wonderful foundation for students to develop self-confidence in a fun, creative and practical environment. Using a series of drama-based techniques students will cover a wide range of communication skills to enhance confidence and conviction when speaking in public.

Students will explore debate techniques, body language, speech writing and interview tips, while also developing their improvisational skill-set. Students will gain a foundational understanding of voice theory and vocal delivery - such as breath control, vocal projection and clarity of speech to create dynamic, coloured vocal performances.

Students will have the opportunity to enter for their LAMDA Speaking in Public Examinations in Spring/Summer 2022.

ACTING/MUSICAL THEATRE - LAMDA CCA | JUNIOR SCHOOL

Find Your Spotlight on our Acting/Musical Theatre LAMDA CCA! Sing, Dance and Act as you learn repertoire from some of the West End’s most popular plays and musicals. Students will bring favourite characters to life, by acting through song, performing through movement and having fun exploring script work and monologues. Using the LAMDA Examination syllabus students will be able to enter for their Acting or Musical Theatre LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) Examinations in Spring/Summer 2022. Examinations are optional.

HIP HOP/JAZZ DANCE CCA | JUNIOR SCHOOL & SENIOR SCHOOL

Hip Hop dancing is very dynamic and refers to dance styles developed from several cultures including jazz rock, tap, and American and Latino cultures. In this class students will dance to their favourite tracks, learn fun routines focusing on Hip Hop techniques such as popping and locking, as well as break dancing.

BALLET CCA - DUCKS

Ballet is the foundation to all dance disciplines creating elegance, line and poise with each movement. These structured classes develop students’ physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression and musicality using a range of movements and musical styles to create dynamic, colourful performances. The syllabi prepare students for a successful transition to RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Examinations and other dance genres at higher levels.
